You could do french knitting with those. Kind of like finger knitting only with the pegs and the result goes through the middle. I used to make little ropes that went on and on and on and on and on...

I found some kelly green "straw yarn" at a vintage shop a while back. I have used it for crochetting but I think it's original purpose was for the flower looms.

Ooooh, pretty! I instantly pictured lots of those flowers on a straw bag -I used to have one when I was little and I loved it. But they were made of some kind of plastic yarn... And adult version would be so cool! :)
