Hi friends! We have a little crush on cookbooks so today we thought it would be fun if we shared some of our favorites from our combined personal collection! Emma's Favorites: Good to the Grain
features tons of recipes to get you baking with different grains and flours. I've only gotten to make three things from this book so far-but they were all divine. My Father's Daughter
Yes, a celebrity cookbook. This book is a collection of favorite family recipes from Gwyneth Paltrow, so many delicious and healthy meal ideas.

Elsie's Favorites:
Seasons This book features the work of Australian food stylist, Donna Hay. I picked it up (somewhat casually) at Anthropologie one day and it's become my absolute favorite inspiration for pretty eats. If big, beautiful photos inspire you to cook you'll probably love this book as much as I do.
Jamie's Food Revolution
Emma and I ADORE Jamie Oliver. I like his recipes because they are simple and natural. Best of all, Jeremy loves Jamie's recipes too (yes, Mr. Larson likes to cook... lucky me!)

More of Emma's Favorites:
My Bread
This book teaches you to make bread using the no-knead method, which is different from more traditional bread baking techniques. I'm having a lot of fun going through these recipes, working on my bread baking skills.
Super Natural Cooking
This is Heidi Swanson's first cookbook. She is also the author of
101 Cookbooks. I had been gifted her second cookbook by a friend and loved it so much that I recently decided I needed to get it's companion.
Joy the Baker Cookbook
I have been a fan of Joy's
blog for years so when I read that she was coming out with a cookbook I had to get it.
What are your favorite cookbooks? xo. emma + elsie
Even more than cookbooks, I love to read books by cooks. I've been fascinated by Anthony Bourdain's books lately!

I love Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French cooking. A close second is Encyclopedie de Gastronomie Francaise because it has everything you could ever want to know about french cooking in it! As for the sweet stuff...Wonda's Pie In The Sky!!!

Love this! My husband and I are both big cooks, and Jamie Oliver is often our go to guy. His original Naked Chef cookbook was the first one I ever got for myself, well over 10 years ago.

I raise my hand and admit to a Jamie Oliver obsession too. I have 7 of his cookbooks but here in the UK that's probably not too unusual (she tells herself, hopefully!).
For comfort food and bedtime reading, always Nigella Lawson, especially her bible, How to Eat, and also Kitchen and Feast. If you like cookbooks at bedtime, she is the queen!
If you like a beautiful book written beautifully and have time for some more complicated recipes, try Falling Cloudberries by Tessa Kiros.

The Sophie Dahl books, just got the second one for my birthday! Simple but different kind of recipes!

Well I'm a bit biased (picking a cookbook from my cultural food). My favorite is "L'encyclopédie de la cuisine de Jehane Benoît". Jehane Benoît is an iconic French Canadian cook whose recipes I grew up eating. A few years ago my great aunt gave my mother (who's an excellent cook) all the recipe leaflets she collected over the years (that was the point, you would collect the leaflets and end up with the full encyclopidia that you would bind together in a sort of binder you could order for it). Now you can buy the encyclopidia as a book but my mom has the original version.

The one that I find myself going back to again and again is Nigella Lawson's "Nigella Express". I adore her recipes, her approach to food, and her delightful and charming self.

I'm writing a cookbook! It's all about pies. It should be ready by the end of the year. Keep a look out for it, will you?

My two "bibles" of the kitchen are "The Joy of Cooking" and Deborah Madison's Vegeterian Cooking for Everyone." I also adore, adore, adore Molly Katzen's "Vegetable Heaven."

One of my favourite "cook books" was Like Water For Chocolate. It was the story of a young woman, who was a talented cook, and in between the chapters of her painful and romantic story, were recipes for wonderful Mexican food. It's a magical book, if you're ever looking for a good read.
