My old hamper was a bit dull for my taste so I gave it a face lift without spending a dime. I used spray paint and duct tape that I had on hand to turn this drab woven basket into something much more exciting!
Supplies Needed: Large straw basket, spray paint, duct tape. 1. Tape off your negative space. If you're doing stripes I suggest an odd number such as three or five. Press your tape edges down to make sure your paint doesn't blur or leak.
2. Spray paint two thin coats according to manugacturer's instructions. 3. Let your paint dry before removing your tape.
Use your large straw basket to corral umbrellas, rolls of wrapping paper, or toys. Enjoy! -Rachel

Been looking forward to this! Fantastic DIY, Rachel! So clever...

Such a great hamper to start with...I love a good and sturdy one. And I need to start using spray paint more-it opens worlds to me I never though I had:) (The shoes in the shot are fantastic too!!)

Great DIY. I would love to do it with red or orange paint, maybe both. Bright and colorful :)

Always such simple beautiful ideas at their best!! I want to dress our hamper too...maybe my laundry baskets whilst I'm at it so that doing the laundry is more fun. Hopefully it will inspire me to attack the hamper more dutifully;)
