Arnold Palmers are my favorite summer drink! These sweet treats are half ice tea and half lemonade. They are named after a famous golfer. Some people also call these half and halfs. I've been playing around with different fruit tea varieties at my studio and I thought they would be fun to share. I love that they are sweet, but much less sweet than lemonade. I always make mine with unsweetened teas.
First I make sun tea. I'm sure most of you have done this before, but since I have had a few questions about it I thought I'd explain. Sun tea is simply tea that steeps in the sunlight. I let mine sit in the direct sunlight for at least an hour. I usually forget that it's on my front porch, though, and it sits for several hours. I love this method because the prep is super simple and my mom makes it this way. :)
I add fresh fruit to my Arnold Palmers. It's delicious, especially the grapefruit!
Here are a few of my favorite combinations. Have you tried blueberry tea? It's amazing.
Peach tea + Lemonade + Fresh grapefruit is my favorite combination. It's refreshing with just the right amount of tartness.
I love raspberry anything, so this combination is another favorite.
I hope some of you get to try this recipe for the first time this summer! And for all of you long time Arnold Palmer lovers, I hope you try a new combination of flavors! xo. Elsie
